Sorry for using a for sale site, but I need information.

My daughter's computer crashed and I reloaded windows XP Pro (Licensed).
But now it will not recognize any video drivers. It is an acer monitor and
I have tried to download drivers, but run into a brick wall.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Do you know the make/model of video card in the pc?

If it's an add-on card it's easily determined by opening it up and looking
at the card. Should be something on it tells you what you need to know.

If it's instead integrated graphics (e.g. on motherboard) then you have to
determine make/model of motherboard and do some research to determine the
graphics chip being used. Sometimes that means go to site of manufacturer of
motherboard and they should be able to give some idea. Usually just go to
OEM's site is enough.

For an add-on card, just go to the manufacturers site. In all likelyhood
that'll be ATI or nVidia. They'll have an appropriate driver for download.

On board graphics can be a little more tricky. First place to look is the
OEM's (e.g. DELL, Gateway, etc.) site. If that doesn't work out next step is
the graphics chip manufacturers site. If that doesn't work out ask again but
include make/model of PC, operating system being used and if possible the
graphics card in the system.
